Prayagraj: In a groundbreaking initiative aimed at making the upcoming Mahakumbh 2025 a divine and grand digital experience, Indian Railways has introduced a unique digital ticketing facility for the devotees. The North Central Railway’s Prayagraj division has unveiled a new system designed to save pilgrims from long queues at ticket counters, streamlining the ticketing process during the Kumbh Mela. Now, pilgrims can directly obtain their digital rail tickets by scanning QR codes printed on the jackets of railway personnel.
New QR Code Ticket Booking System for Mahakumbh 2025
To facilitate this initiative, the North Central Railway has introduced an innovative ticket booking solution, focusing on the convenience of the large number of devotees expected to attend Mahakumbh 2025. Railway commercial department staff at Prayagraj Junction will be stationed in special green jackets, with QR codes printed on the back. Devotees can scan these codes with their smartphones to download the UTS (Unreserved Ticketing System) mobile app. Through the app, they will be able to book unreserved tickets without the need to stand in long queues.
Simplifying Ticket Booking for Devotees at Mahakumbh
This new initiative is specifically designed to ease the ticketing experience for the millions of pilgrims arriving for Mahakumbh. The digital ticketing system, powered by QR codes and mobile apps, aims to eliminate the need for waiting in long lines at the railway stations. Not only will this save valuable time for the pilgrims, but it will also simplify their travel experience, making it more efficient and stress-free. Furthermore, the digital system will provide relief to the railway administration by easing the ticketing process.
Additional Digital Amenities for a Seamless Mahakumbh Experience
In addition to the QR code-based ticketing system, Indian Railways has already made significant strides in ensuring a digital Mahakumbh. Toll-free numbers, websites, and the Mahakumbh Mela application have been made available to help streamline the pilgrimage experience. With the introduction of QR code jackets for railway personnel, passengers will have access not only to tickets but also to other useful information and services, enhancing their overall experience.
A Major Step Toward a Digital Mahakumbh 2025
This initiative by the North Central Railway is being hailed as a major leap forward in line with the government’s vision of Digital India, further contributing to the success of the digital Mahakumbh. It is expected that this digital ticket booking system will offer a modern, comfortable, and hassle-free travel experience to the devotees attending the Mahakumbh 2025, ensuring their journey is smooth from start to finish.
